Since I’m terrible at remembering a day-by-day recap of where I went or what I did (even with photo evidence), I’m breaking it down into segments.
While I was in Rome, I spent a significant portion of time with some dear friends who live there. Our days were slow-paced, mostly filled with errands, and broken up by regular nap times (for their now-8-month-old girl, but I won’t pretend the adults didn’t enjoy naps as well).
I will never get over the ivy growing all over everything in Rome. On the side street just past this, ivy had grown out to the streetlight, and had formed a complete canopy between buildings.
Amy dreams of owning one of these vehicles, and growing/selling flowers out of the back.
We popped into a cathedral for some shade, and also because it was beautiful.
We cut through the local University on our way home, and enjoyed a student art show in one of the courtyards.
I don’t remember why/how we passed the Colosseum, but it was overwhelmingly crowded and touristy, and I learned quickly not to smile or even look at any of the men trying to sell things.
