I made this for you!

Hey there! I’m writing this on Thursday afternoon, while two college dudes are loading most of my belongings into the back of a huge truck. It’s nice to know that someone else is doing the work, though I can’t figure out how much I’m supposed to hover and/or manage the process. By the time you read this, I’ll have found out whether I did it right – stay tuned for stories of broken things?

100 Best-Ever Teen Novels – How many have you read? I thought I was going to rock this list, but it’s filled with books I haven’t heard of. I’ll go back to this list if I run out of recommendations…which will be never. So, instead, tell me whether any obscure ones on this list are must-reads for you! (My vote is for #28 – the Uglies series.)

Why Is It Hard to Make Friends Over 30? You guys, this makes me sad. I don’t want to think about things being harder. But, instead, I am going to move forward, armed with this knowledge and knowing that I’ll have to overcome future friend-making difficulties.

Go look at this! I MEAN NOW!

omg British Drama! (Not Downton.)

This is the coolest infographic ever! (Watch the video.)

And while we’re talking about summer sports.

One more Olympic story – this time from the photographers.

Tips for backpacking with kids – not that I need this right now, but it’ll be helpful when I need to convince my friends to go backcountry camping more often.

Okay, time for some inspirational crap! Like Seth Godin’s interview at TGD.

I’m now obsessed with this artist. (Check out the way he adds facets to the crystals!) And I’m tempted to buy one of these prints.

I might need to sign up for this class.

That’s all for now! Have a great weekend!

  1. The article about making friends after 30 was really interesting! I think I’m in a unique situation with my job since by nature expats are new to a place and looking to create a social circle. That said, the expat community where I am isn’t huge and I’m pretty picky so it’s not totally easy. But I think that’s what the article was saying.

  2. I think that’s what it’s saying, too – though, I think being picky isn’t a bad thing. There should just be ways for groups of awesome people to find each other. Maybe that’s why the internet was invented.
