I think what pushed me over the edge was a conversation with two friends who have caught the running bug – both have run multiple 10-13 mile races – where they admitted that, even now, the first mile is always awful. This whole time, I had assumed that since it was so unpleasant, I must be doing it wrong.
So, after announcing to a few friends that I would start and securing from them permission to let me bitch and moan for as long as it took before I am officially hooked, I picked a date and got out there.
It’s been two weeks. I totally hate running. But I’m sort of enjoying all the bitching and moaning.
