Hey! I have a new toy. It’s a fisheye lens, which, if you can’t already tell, creates a fun distortion.
It’s especially perfect for architecture shots, because I can fit an entire building in the frame (without crossing the street and standing on top of another building) and it gives, in my opinion, a bit of the hugeness and awesomeness inherent in large buildings.
When I attempted to take a close-up flower shot, this was what happened – the camera was nearly pressed against the flower, and I wasn’t expecting my shadow to be on the edge!
Hopefully this will be fun for adding some magic to unexpected places in my life, like this staircase. Also, lenses like this are perfect for capturing huge skies or giant landscapes – something which I hope to prove in a week when I’m in Yosemite.
What happened to that cute picture of you and the tree? I’d love to play with a fisheye lens. It’s looks so cool.
You are too fast! I edited.
Grats on the lens.
Yosemite is a beautiful place. I keep thinking I’d like to go back there — I haven’t been there in over 15 years, even though I live in the same state.
you are going to do amazing things with that lens in yosemite–can’t wait!!
